Shopping again

OB-GYN visit again tomorrow. I am planning to go to Park Meadows Mall again for shopping. I need to start shopping for christmas gifts for my husband and his relatives too. After my OB appointment, Hubby and I are planning to have lunch first then pick up my friend Liezel to accompany me in Park Meadows Mall.

Our Thanksgiving

Sorry folks! I’ve been very busy lately which is why I haven’t updated my journal. My back is really bothering me. Maybe the reason is going out with friends or having a get together or shopping and walking too much. I think I need to chill out and relax at home. Anyway, I am planning to go out tomorrow to Park Meadows Mall and after that I guess I will have some time to chill.
By the way, we had a very nice Thanksgiving with some friends who came over. We played a game of poker after our dinner and then karaoke after the game. My friends and I went out shopping at 5:00 AM and we were all tired after that! But it’s okay because I never experienced shopping on Black Friday and now I know the feeling! And never again! hehehe

Thanksgiving preparation

My husband cooked some food already for tomorrow’s Thanksgiving dinner. We invited some friends over. I will cook some Filipino food. I will cook dessert tonight and some Filipino dishes tomorrow. Right now, I am just playing poker online and in a little bit I will start cooking.

Manny Pacquiao's fight!

Manny Pacquiao’s fight is coming soon! I invited some friends over to watch the fight. As usual, my hubby and I have to prepare food for our visitors. I don’t know what to cook yet but will figure it out. The fight will be on December 06, 2008. I just hope and pray that Manny will win the fight. He always shares his blessings to poor people in the Philippines. One of the reasons why I like Manny is because he has a good heart!

what a week for me!

My tummy is so full today. I went out to a friend’s house, and as usual, we ate a lot of food. She has a lot of leftovers from her daughter’s birthday party last night. I was helping her before the party and also at the party last night. Today, I went there again because another Filipina friend of ours couldn’t make it last night and wanted to go there today. She wanted me to be there also so she picked me up this afternoon and we spent time together eating and chatting with another Filipina friend. I am glad I can rest tomorrow because it’s been three days now that my back and waist hurt so bad! Tomorrow I need some bed rest!

My husband was out of town yesterday but he came home now. I was bored when he left especially last night I was alone so I decided to play poker online. I was actually doing well. Then today, I played again and won a couple of games. I am now tired and my back hurts so I stopped playing. I will continue some other day because I have no time tomorrow too. I am going to help a friend to cook some food for her daughter's birthday party.

what a day!

I feel sore today from walking around the mall for a few hours. My friend and I went out and had lunch with another Filipina friend. We went to the mall and were checking for good sales. I ended up buying a bracelet and I really like it! My friend liked it too but there was only one left and I got it. We saw a nice DKNY watch that we both liked, and it was on sale! Hmmmm, I will just wait until Christmas and hope my hubby buys it for me!

I finally made pitsi pitsi today because I am craving it. However, it didn’t turn out very good and wasn’t exactly how I want it to be. In the Philippines, it is a yellowish color and tastes really good! What I made is white and not too sweet! Ugh!!!! I am very disappointed because it took 45 minutes to steam it and the results were not good!

Movie night!

It’s movie time again tonight for me and my hubby. We have a couple of movies from Netflix and we will decide later which one we want to watch. I really like Fridays and Saturdays because my husband and I can spend a lot of time together at home. I am also looking forward to Thanksgiving because he has that day off and is taking the Friday after Thanksgiving off too! I invited some friends over for Thanksgiving and it’s going to be fun! My hubby is planning to cook and I will also cook some Filipino food, including dessert…hhhhmmmm..Yummy! I am now excited!

cancelled lunch

My plans to go out with a friend today, for lunch, were cancelled. She received news last night that her ex-husband died from a heart attack in the Philippines. They had two children, who are living with her. She needs to buy their children tickets right away today, if there are any available going to Manila. She decided to stay here in the US because she has another son from her present husband to take care of! I was looking forward to seeing her today since we haven’t seen each other for more than four months, but I also understand that she has some very important matters to deal with. We can still get together at another time to catch up! I just hope that everything will be okay with her.

lunch on Thursday with a friend

I received a call from a good friend today and we made plans go out for lunch on Thursday. We used to go out at least once a month before I got pregnant but since I had severe morning sickness we haven’t gone out. She is also a very busy mom and she has a business to take care of which is also part of the reason she has not had time to visit me. It’s a good thing that she will find time to have lunch with me despite her hectic schedule. It’s been four months since we’ve seen one another. She will be shocked to see me tomorrow because my tummy has gotten so big! hehehe

fly

I got irritated today because I saw a fly inside our house. It freaks me out when I see them! They are really gross and I am not comfortable seeing them flying around. My husband and I were trying to chase it and kill it but as of now we are both getting tired because it flies so quickly! I hope the fly will get tired soon so we can take advantage of it and kill it! LOL

Broncos won!

I watched the football game tonight with my husband because the Denver Broncos were playing against the Cleveland Browns. During the first half, the Broncos were not really doing well. However, during the 4th quarter they scored a touchdown on a 90+ yard pass play and forced a fumble which led to another touchdown. They had the lead at that point but gave up a touchdown to the Browns to give them the lead. Denver drove down the field and scored another touchdown to give them the win! I don’t want to see them lose again so I am happy that they pulled it off tonight! GO BRONCOS!

another baby?!

Even though our son won’t be born until March, my husband and I were talking about the possibility of having another baby. I really want to have a baby girl but I told him we should wait for about seven years to have another one! He said that it seems too long to wait. Well, I will have another one in about a year if he allows me to live in the Philippines for about five months. That way, I would have family who can always watch me and take care of me. Even though my husband is very supportive and helpful, I still worry because I am home alone all day while he is working. Many times when I call him at work he is not in his office because he is in a meeting. If I was in the Philippines, I wouldn’t have to cook for myself because a lot of people would just do it or I could ask anyone in my family to buy me something to eat. I only like Filipino food, which is a very good reason for me to be in the Philippines the next time I get pregnant…LOL!

Our baby is a BOY!

Finally, hubby and I both know our baby’s gender. I had an ultrasound today and the result is, a baby boy!!! I wanted to have a baby girl but whatever, as long as our baby is very healthy, I’m good! It was cool seeing him during the ultrasound in different positions and moving around a lot! There was one image where he looked like he was waving. Cool huh?! They checked everything they could and thank God he is in great shape and his heartbeat is also great!

Balikbayan box

My “balikbayan box” was finally picked up this morning. I was waiting for 3 weeks for somebody to pick it up! I hope it gets to my family in the Philippines before Christmas because they are looking forward to get their Christmas presents!
